A US patient's spine-surgery journey, coordinated end to end

A patient in the United States had been living with persistent lower-back and leg pain and had been quoted a long wait and a high out-of-pocket cost at home for a lumbar disc procedure. They contacted MediBridge to ask whether the same surgery could be arranged, and coordinated, at a Shanghai Class-3A hospital.

Our first step was purely administrative: we collected the existing imaging and clinical records the patient already held and organised them for review. A hospital physician independently assessed those records and confirmed the patient was a candidate for evaluation — MediBridge makes no diagnosis and gives no clinical opinion.

With that confirmation, we prepared a transparent package: an itemised estimate, the appointment schedule, visa-support documents, and the travel and interpretation logistics. The patient chose to upgrade to a package tier that included airport pickup and a dedicated medical interpreter for consultations.

On arrival the patient was met at the airport and escorted to the hospital. Our interpreter accompanied them through the pre-operative consultations so nothing was lost in translation, and we handled the admission paperwork and payment coordination directly with the hospital.

After the procedure and the hospital's own discharge process, we booked the follow-up review the treating team recommended and made sure the patient left with translated copies of their records for continuity of care at home.

Every clinical decision in this story was made by licensed physicians at the hospital. MediBridge's role throughout was administrative coordination — records handling, appointments, logistics, translation, and payment facilitation.
